Associate AMANDA J. McKECHNIE handles a wide variety of litigation including business disputes, breach of contract, claims, construction defect claims, product defect claims, general liability claims, real estate disputes, and accident claims.  Ms. McKechnie has represented developers, general contractors, various design professionals, and specialty subcontractors in all aspects of construction litigation including claims for defective construction, professional negligence, contract disputes, toxic mold and personal injury. She is a seasoned negotiator with a proven ability to analyze complex legal matters and identify, evaluate and resolve issues in the most expedient and cost-effective manner on behalf of clients.  Mrs. McKechnie’s practice includes:

  • Representation of developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in various construction related litigation for both residential and commercial projects from the outset of the dispute through litigation of construction defect claims.
  • Analysis of contractual disputes in various areas including insurance coverage and indemnification, payment issues, and contract enforcement and defense.
  • Counseling clients on contract language and formation issues.

Ms. McKechnie has volunteered extensively with programs such as the Constructional Rights Foundation Mock Trial Program and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). In addition, Ms. McKechnie serves as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego.
